DANGOTE’S N1.1 BILLION GIFT: A new dawn for Ilorin Central Mosque and UNILORIN students
Aliko Dangote, president of the Dangote Group, has pledged to fully finance an ₦1.1 billion ultramodern 250-bed hostel project for the Ilorin Central Jumma’at Mosque in Kwara State, Nigeria.
This initiative aims to provide student accommodation and generate income for the mosque’s upkeep.
The project involves the construction of a 250-bed facility at the University of Ilorin. The Ilorin Central Jumma’at Mosque will own and manage the hostel for 21 years, after which ownership will revert to the university. The rental income generated from students residing in the hostel will be dedicated to the maintenance and sustainability of the mosque.
In addition to funding the construction, Dangote has committed to a monthly donation of ₦5 million to support the mosque’s regular operations until the hostel project is completed.
