Kwara Polytechnic ex-student dies in suspected cult clash
Authorities of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, on Tuesday confirmed the killing of a former student of the institution, Oyelade Habeeb Olawale, in a violent confrontation involving suspected rival cult groups near the campus.
Olawale, a former Civil Engineering student, was allegedly attacked during a clash triggered by ex-students linked to suspected cult groups who returned to the area.

The incident caused panic before the school’s security operatives waded in.
Public Relations Officer of the institution, Halimat Garba, described the killing as “regrettable.”
She disclosed that several suspects have been arrested in connection with the bloody clash and handed over to security agencies for investigation.
Halimat said normalcy has been restored and academic activities continue without disruption.
The spokesperson assured that the institution remained committed to curbing violence and safeguarding students.
